Nikon pochi giorni fa ha reso noto un comunicato dedicato agli utenti possessori della Nikon Coolpix L23. Alcuni modelli della macchina generano eccessivo calore anche da spenta, provocando un eccessivo surriscaldamento. Ciò si verifica acnhe quando la si collega all'adattatore elettrico di rete. Ciò provocherebbe una deformazione della plastica. Nikon nella nota che riporteremo qui di seguito, in lingua inglese, rassicura che non c'é nessun pericolo che la macchina possa prendere fuoco e consiglia agli utenti di togliere la batteria o scollegarla all'adattatore elettrico quando la macchina non è in funzione.
Dal 25 Luglio Nikon prenderà indietro gli esemplari incriminati da tale difetto e li sostituirà senza spese per il cliente. Nikon, molto umilmente, si scusa con i suoi consumatori e dichiara che in futuro non accadrà un problema simile.
In questo link é possibile, inserendo il seriale della macchina, sapere se é affetta o meno da questo difetti. Inoltre Nikon dichiara che se all'interno del foro di attaccato del treppiede é presente un bollino bianco, la macchina risulta essere stata controllata dalla casa e che quindi non presenterà tale problema.

Notice for users of the COOLPIX L23
We have confirmed that in some rare cases, the Nikon COOLPIX L23 digital camera may generate excessive heat, causing the top cover to become deformed. While there is no danger of fire, we would ask users of the affected cameras to remove the batteries or disconnect the AC adapter.
We are currently making the necessary preparations to resolve this issue by repairing affected cameras at Nikon service centers, beginning on July 25th (Russia and Ukraine from August 1st). We plan to repair affected cameras at no charge to the customer. Further details will be announced at a later date.

Indications
When the batteries are inserted, or the AC Adapter EH-65A is connected, with the camera turned off, excessive heat is in some rare cases generated in the top portion of the camera sometimes causing the top cover to become deformed.

Cameras with a white circle on the tripod socket, like that shown in the photo below, have already been inspected and the necessary adjustments made to prevent this issue from occurring. Therefore, if your camera has the white circle, you may continue to use the camera safely, even if its serial number is one of those indicated above.
